Summit 

Christian Worldview Bible Study Curriculum

Worldview: “a pattern of ideas, beliefs, convictions, and habits that help us make sense of God, the world, and our relationship to God and the world.” – Dr. Jeff Myers


Biblical Worldview develops a structure for living biblically in all areas of life.


The Summit Program:

Teaches children how to defend their faith.

Applies real-life application in today’s world.

Asks questions that makes connections between knowledge and faith.


Kindergarten to Fifth Grade focus on:

Building on the Rock

It lays the groundwork of Christian worldview education by helping children understand the relationship between the Creator (God), His creation, each other, and themselves.


Sixth to Eighth Grade focus on:

Walking in Truth

The students will be taught how to defend their faith and to spot counterfeit worldviews.

• The Christian Worldview (6th grade) addresses the “big questions” about God, the universe, human beings, truth, and morality.

• Competing Worldviews (7th grade) compares the foundational aspects of Christianity with other major religions.

• Christianity in Action (8th grade) educates students on how to live within their Christian worldview in a post-Christian society.

*Whole language- learning to read, reading to learn, and reading with reason.

*Growing in knowledge and love of the Word of God.


Literature

*Literature of Christian History.

*Vocabulary and English language skills.

*Encouraging a love of the Bible, classics and quality literature.


English

*Practicing language composition skills daily through classic and quality literature and the Bible.


History and Geography

*Learning from primary sources and the Bible. 

*Teaching principle through His Story.

*Using the Chain of Christianity.


Science

*Building on the scientific foundations revealed in the Bible.

*Biblical wisdom that inspired Kepler, Galileo, Newton, Maury.

*Studying natural history and philosophy as it relates to science.

*God’s excellent nature and character expressed through His creation.

*God’s principles, both Biblical and governmental, as applied scientifically.


All subjects taught using a Christian reflective teaching method.

Real World Application of Knowledge

Students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects.

Learning Comes Alive and Becomes Relevant While Students:

• Work on projects over an extended length of time 

• Solve ‘real-world’ problems, challenges or answer complex questions.

• Create a product and/or present to an audience.

• Research and combine knowledge using critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills.
